Lake Sammamish

I took the boys to a nearby lake for a picnic and some outside time. They had a good time throwing rocks in the water and chasing the ducks. This summer hopefully it'll be warm enough to swim!

Big rocks dropped on little feet breaks little toes

Dominic dropped a rather large rock on his foot and this is the result. After consulting the doctor's assistant over the phone she confirmed it is broken and there isn't anything we can do about it. Dom walks with a limp and all his shoes hurt him. Every once in a while in a non whiney tone he says, "Mom, my foot hurts." Poor guy! It happened while I was cooking dinner night before last. I had Dom and Sam looking for rocks in our back yard. Hard to find ones like red with purple polka dots. 5 muinutes later I heard a shriek that had me sprinting to the back yard. Thank goodness DJ came home a minute later because I was ready to take him to the ER. I thought his foot was broken! It was very bruised and swollen. DJ calmed me down and said let's just wait and see. (which is usually my approach, but I was really upset) Ahh the joys of motherhood. We should really get honorary degree's in some medical field with all the stuff we deal with over a lifetime!!!

Goldfish Goldfish Goldfish

I am the proud mama to 10, make that 6, I mean 4, now 14 and nope, today it is 12 goldfish.

I volunteered to be the Fish Fairy for Braden's classroom. They are studying fish in class and each table has a bowl with a goldfish in it. They are dropping like flies so Braden's teacher needs me to bring in new fish each day. Braden's school starts at 9:00 and the pet store is 15 minutes away and opens at 9:00 and why not buy the night before? The fish die after an hour or two in the plastic bag sooooo I had to purchase a tank to hold them in. So, now we have pet goldfish. They're really quite cute. All 5 of us love them. At first I had this huge pit of dread in my stomach and I wondered what I got myself into. But so far it's really not a big deal. I like to watch them as much as the kids do. To save myself a trip I had DJ purchase the second batch of 10 after work. He came home with a bag of rocks to cheer up the fish and make it more homey for them! Angela, if you read this.......I really would take your fish for you! I haven't lost one at home yet. All the fish I've sent to the classroom have been healthy and vibrant!

Dominic Paints his Easter Bunny

Ruth sent the boys a fun easter package that included some ceramic bunnies to paint. Dom claimed them and painted every single one of them.

Playground Fun

We had 3 glorious sunny days. The boys and I spent as much time outside as we could. This playground is just a couple of walking minutes away.

Less than $5.00!

I found this at Kohl's for $4.99 on clearance. I still got an employee discount after that. I put it by my front door and everytime I look at it I smile.

Feeding the Ducks

After we had already fed the ducks most of our bread I saw the bright red and white sign, "Please do no feed wildlife!"

Braden practices the piano

Yesterday I taught Braden his first ever piano lesson. Today he practiced for the first time and I was so proud I had to capture it on video. He loves it and exclaimed playing the piano is easy!

Wildlife

I saw my first live raccoon the other day while driving to DJ's store. It was awesome! All those years we lived in GA and I never saw one alive. Dead on the side of the road and zoo's don't count. I'm curious as to why it was out in the middle of the day just sitting on the side of the road watching the cars drive by. I love it when I see wildlife and I file the memory next to the bobcat we saw on Cedar Mountain and the big snake I found in our front yard in GA.

Getting Out

DJ took the kids and I to Bellevue. We promised Braden we would take him to ChuckyCheese after we moved here and that quickly turned into "on daddy's next day off" which was yesterday. We all had a good time. DJ and I get competitive at Skee Ball and Basketball. (I always win Skee Ball and DJ nearly triples my Basketball score.) I spent most of my time trailing Sam in the toddler area. Before we went to Chucky's DJ took us to Bellevue Plaza. It was the biggest mall I've ever been too. There was an awesome play area on the 3rd floor for the kids. It was crazy busy. (Spring break this week.) To my mom's: I would post some pictures but I don't have any new ones. I usually take pic's when we move, but it wasn't pleasant when we left St. George and it's been so crazy with unpacking and shopping for the house that I haven't caught the kids doing anything cute yet.....Soon, (when it's not raining) we're going to feed some ducks I found outside Trader Joe's. I guess there's a pond nearby. I asked because it was so strange to see two fat ducks strutting around right in the store entryway.
