I completed the circuit.....
So last night I tried to electricute myself. I tried to change a light bulb and realized the glass had separated from the base. The glass came off in my hand and I reached up to try and unscrew the rest of it and a loud popping noise went off. Lot's of powder and some smoke. There was a black mark on my finger where the electricity probably went through. My hand and arm were numbish and tingly all night. Poor Dominic. It scared him so bad. He ran into the hallway screaming when it happened and he stood in the hallway sobbing "Mom! Are you O.K.?!" I taped the light switch into the off position and I'm going to wait for my Dad or DJ to come to my house and try to remove the rest of the light bulb.

Update on the move.....
DJ drove to WA Monday and arrived Tuesday afternoon. He drove 10 hrs the first day and 8 the 2nd. He moved into the new house last night. Would you believe my Dad was there to have dinner with him his first night in town?! (He's been working about 23 miles from my new home for the last week or so.) I'll see my Dad again before I see the new house! It's nice to finally have an address. DJ and Dad both said the house is really big. DJ just took a little furniture so it's pretty vacant and lonely there. He said he doesn't know how we'll fill it. In my head I'm thinking, Ha! We have been so cramped here the last few years that I am looking forward to spreading out a little. We will have an extra room that I'm hoping to make into a guest room. Hint Hint. I'm inviting anyone and everyone to come visit. I've moved before and I know I'll be homesick for about the first 6 months to a year. We're still planning on moving over spring break. March 16th or 17th, depending on how much we can get ready over the weekend.

Picture of the house we are going to be living in
Sam drives his brothers crazy.....
Sam reminds me of Braden because he likes to always be doing something. But he also reminds me of Dominic because he is very good at coming up with his own adventures. He kept coming up to me and asking for a different spoon to try banging on his bowls. (We've done this before, but only because I started the fun. I was impressed he initiated this on his own and did it all by himself while I was preparing dinner tonight.)

So Sweet......
Sam's Big Boy Bed
I really don't want to have to move the crib, changing table and rocking chair so I thought, why not at least try it? He likes it about 50/50. So far he's taken 2 naps in it and slept one night in it. Tonight he decided to sleep in his crib. Well, I'll leave it up to him. I prefer not to take my kids out of the crib before 2 1/2 yrs but I REALLY don't want to move them. I'll have to see how he does in the coming month.

Still....no place to live :(
DJ found us a nice place to live, but they sold it! Can you believe it?! The nerve of them! DJ will look again on Tuesday and I'm pounding the keyboard and the phone making appointments and trying to find some place decent. DJ gave me dates for when he will be flying home to drive all of us out there......So the official move day is.........well, he flies home on March 14th and we'll pack up and drive off shortly thereafter.

With Ellie gone.....
I'm surprised at how quiet Rocky is. He doesn't do much but sleep. I've been watching him and it's hard to tell if he is sad or not. He may be just getting old. I didn't realize how much they played together (and fought, Ellie is quite bossy). But Rock doesn't seem lonely, maybe even grateful for some uninterrupted sleep. I've been taking him on walks and giving him extra attention, but all he seems to want to do is sleep. There are some good points to having Ellie gone. It helps get rid of part of the chaos. Now whenever the kids are eating I don't have anxiety about the kids safety and have to put the dogs in their kennel. (Which was constant because my kids seem to be eating, all day!) But I also don't have someone to clean up the floor. (Rocky just sleeps when we eat, can you believe it? He doesn't even care!) Ellie also constantly, as in half a dozen times a day, would get into the trash and I'd have to clean up the tissue she left behind, or the mess on the bathroom floor. So that's one, no wait 6 less messes to clean up everyday. But, I kinda miss it too......Mostly though I'd take her back in a heartbeat. I still miss her. It is so strange and I know it sounds corny, but I feel an empty ache in my heart. Ugh. I really miss her.
A few good things about moving....
So, I've been thinking. There are a some things that are good about moving to WA. Moving in general makes you go through all your stuff and you have to decide what is worth keeping, giving away, or throwing away. I got out my high school cheer uniforms today, I was just going to toss the box, but I opened it and a flood of memories came back. I realized I'm not ready to toss them yet. Maybe they'll make a good Halloween costume in the future for my boys....... I've gone through some boxes that haven't been opened since we moved to GA in 2000. Most of that stuff went in the trash. I've found a few momento's from our childhood or dating years that I can never part with. But most is trash worthy. Another good thing about moving.......no more dry skin!!! Yea!!!! DJ found us a place to live today. That's a huge relief. He spent all day looking at houses. I've been trying to help from home and coordinate, but it's hard not being there.

Goodbye Ellie Goodbye
I tried to take some pic's of the kids with Ellie the night before she left but it didn't work too well. DJ captured this one and it is the best one. I cried and cried last night. I was so upset! We took her to her new Mommy yesterday. I know she will be happier there and I feel good about the decision, but it was still hard! DJ was real sweet while I sobbed but I think he didn't know what to make of all the tears. This morning I started my monthly and had an aha moment. I feel better today. Maybe I just had to cry it out. I also talked to Jodi, and sent emails to Tori and Kristen and that helped to write it out too. Thanks guys!
