Dom Loses First Tooth

Dominic just out of the blue one afternoon said "Hey my tooth is loose" He was so excited and really wanted it out, so he went in the bathroom and tugged at it for a few minutes. When he came back it was just hanging there, so I reached in and it came right out. He was thrilled! I think Braden's first tooth was loose for months and Dom just up and practically pulls his out himself. He was very excited for the tooth fairy to come visit him.

My New Babies

All because of a 3 yr old and a book we checked out at the library about a guinea pig named Sammy. Sam loves to pretend he's one too and communicates with me by "wheeps". When someone in our ward needed a new home for her's I volunteered. We've finally come up with names too. The fat one is Alfrado and the smaller one is Ziti. They're fun to cuddle and all three boys like to play with them. We lay out a blanket and set up a maze for them to run around and explore on. They have to be fed twice a day and it's pretty gross cleaning out their cage. They poop and pee a lot. I think when we have to move again I'm going to find another home for them. But for now, they're my little snuggle bugs :)

Whale Watching and Deception Pass

Deception Pass State Park

Lime Kiln Point State Park

Okay, so this trip was one of the coolest I have ever taken. It was a day trip only and we spent over 10 hrs traveling (driving, ferry, or waiting for ferry) for just over 2 hrs of recreation. But totally worth it!!! First we stopped at Deception pass for a little hiking, sightseeing and a picnic. Beautiful!!! Then we drove to Annacortes to catch the ferry to Friday Harbor for some whale watching. There's a resident pod of Orca's that lives there. It was Oct 1st and they changed the ferry schedule that very day and we had to wait 3 hrs for the ferry. Very boring and time consuming. But if we hadn't caught such a late ferry we wouldn't have seen the whales! They were out to sea fishing and when we finally got to Lime Kiln Point State Park it was nearly 5 pm. We waited and watched for an hour. I asked someone and she said she heard they were out to sea all day but they were headed back in, but who knew how close to shore they would get and when. Sigh. After an hour we gave up and started hiking back to our car. DJ and I turned around and decided to watch just a few more minutes and I couldn't believe it!! But we saw them! First we just saw water spouts , then fins and a little body now and then. Amazing! I can't believe I actually got to see Orca's in the wild. They weren't that close to shore, but still a cool experience!

Portland With My Dad

My Dad worked a couple of weeks in Portland, about 3 hrs from my house. Last Saturday I drove the boys down there and we spent one night. We played in the pool, went to a fund restaurant for dinner, then the Portland Children's Museum the next day. We went to downtown Portland and waited in line briefly for Voo Doo Donuts, but it was well over an hour wait and the boys were restless immediately. We settled for Krispy Kremes and then it was time for us to head back. It was great to spend some time with my Dad. The next day Sam asked if we could drive down and see Pa again.
