Funny story......

So I did a huge no no. I let a door to door sales WOMAN in my home. And exactly 48 hours later I realized my GIGANTIC mistake. She stole my house keys. And there was a tag attached to the keys that said 608 N 1275 W. Don't worry about remembering where you picked up these keys! The address is right here. Come back when we're not home and steal anything you'd like! What makes me feel even worse was DJ was out of town for one of the nights. I slept alone in my house with my babies and someone who was up to no good had keys to my house!!!!! So anyway, the sales lady came to my house Tuesday afternoon. I only use these keys (that hang just inside my door) when I run out to take Braden to school. On Wednesday my friend drove them to school. On Thursday as we rushed out the door to walk to school and I went to grab my keys I instantly knew what happened. This very nice sales lady asked if I was a Mormon and wanted to know if I had a Book of Mormon. I said maybe and invited her in, she was just so dang nice! I left the room and came back 3 times. I thought, this is odd, what could she steal while I'm gone? Nothing but my keys. Surely she wouldn't do that?! She kept sidetracking me and asking questions to get me to leave the room. Then after she left, the kids kept me busy and I forgot for nearly 48 hours the premonition that my house keys were gone until I needed them. Luckily my friend Jessica had bought the product. We had the names and phone numbers of the company. I spoke with them many times and they "just couldn't believe something like this would happen!" But, first I called the Police and asked them to stop by so I could file a report. The officer was really nice and I begged him not to laugh at me when I told him the story. I had a locksmith there in an hour and changed all my locks. It still makes me a little nervous that someone out there could be stopping by and attempting to break in. But I'm confident through all my leg work with the actual company that she knows I know, the police were looking for her (that day) and I had the locks changed. Ugh! Long story short, never, NEVER let a stranger in your house. Even if she plays the mormon card and even if she is super sweet and nice!

I have a friend up here that I give a really hard time too because she just can't tell those people no. She actually invited one in once and made them a sandwich! She has also let them in to use her bathroom too. I have a no soliciting sign (I can make one for you if you want.) but if they still have the nerve to knock, I don't even let them get their pitch out. Some of them can be very pushy, so be careful. I am so sorry that this happened to you, but so glad that it wasn't anything worse. There was a lady in American Fork last month that was raped and beaten and left for dead by a sales person. I always make sure that Pugsley is right there if I don't recognize who is at the door.
