I took the boys to the Tulip Festival today. It was a hassle with the long drive and terrible traffic. But, once I saw the fields of flowers I knew it was worth it. We spent about 2 hrs walking around 2 large fields. I think there are lot's more fields, but after 2 hours the boys were digging in the dirt and throwing it and just completely done with the whole event. Dominic liked to fill up the tulips with dirt until they were tipping over. That's when I knew it was time to go! The drive home was not pretty. We sat and sat and sat in traffic to get out of the fields and then even longer on I-5. The boys did really good and for the most part I didn't have any problems with them. At one point the song "Dead and Gone" came on the radio and one of the first lines is "Ohhhhh, I've been traveling on this road too long." Braden said "Hey Mom, this song is like us!" It was really funny because it was so true. We sat in traffic for hours not moving more than a few miles an hour. I did a full album on Facebook. These are just a few of my favorites. We took pictures by every color of tulip, so there's lots of pictures!

You took your kids by yourself. You are so brave. I saw the tulips as a teenager with my family but haven't gotten up the nerve to take my kids there yet. Your pictures are beautiful, I'll have to just enjoy them for the time being. Thanks for sharing.
